MS. SNIPE: And, the word came from on high, “I am the Chosen One.” Well, BC, maybe in your own mind. My astonishment at the support of seemingly intelligent Republicans elected to office, continues to grow. Maybe my own ego isn’t strong enough to really believe that I am so very special as they do. Maybe the carrot – keeping a job (aka re-election) appears bigger and sweeter than doing the job they were elected to do.
MS. SNIP: Seems like some of them aren’t so intelligent after all. Some of the things coming out of their mouths sound so stupid, often dangerous and racist. So called news reporters (those who can read) are often just as bad or worse. It seems evident to me that colleges and universities dropped Logic 101 when many of these people were elected or hired. And I wonder what is really being taught in Schools of Journalism.
MS. SNIPE: Absolutely, logic is not a part of most arguments. It’s name-calling, derision, false claims, outright lies and ignorance as exhibited by Mr. Carrot himself. While I think the ‘animal channel’ presents the worst of them, commentators on other channels often give them a run for their money in stupidity. And, many of the current ‘candidates’ for future office are not blameless either. It’s a pandemic of the mouth engaging before the brain edits.
MS. SNIP: What’s the answer? How can we overcome it the nose-dive this country is in world-wide? Seems we are no longer respected, barely tolerated. BC’s admiration of dictator’s is stronger than his admiration for members of his own appointees.
MS. SNIPE: We just need to be vigilant, be skeptical of blatant claims. Communicate outrage to our elected officials, to news programs and stations, to sponsors of those programs which air propaganda. And yes, that’s what it is. There has always been propaganda but the internet has exploded with it. It’s possible to invent an ‘alternative fact’ and have it spread faster than a California wildfire.
MS. SNIP: I heard that some of the animal channel people have tried to clarify their responsibilities. Seems BC takes issue with some of their reporters, guests and opinions.
MS. SNIPE: Yes. and kudos to those who let BC know that they are not in the business of blind support for his positions. It’s time for all the cable channel personnel to start practicing opinion free reporting. As Sgt. Friday said, “Just the facts”. If not, the frequently used and often misleading slogan should change from “Breaking News” to the more apt headline, “Breaking Opinion”.
MS. SNIP: And what about that tiff over Greenland. Can we really buy countries?
MS. SNIPE: I suppose some people think anything and everything is for sale. So, hackles raised when the idea was called absurd. Guess what BC and supporters, there were a multitude of people world-wide that had the same reaction — ABSURD. I suppose next he will want to sell Porta Rico since he still does not seem to understand that the Porta Rican people are U.S. Citizens.
I am not a psychologist, not trained in the workings of the human mind, but I feel competent enough to spot a mind that is not working so well. A number of trained psychologists have expressed an opinion of the mental stability, or lack thereof, of BC. It is reported that many of his associates concur but only anonymously. CYA, save your job. Don’t be concerned with the harm being done to the country.
As mentioned before, make your voices heard by writing and calling your elected officials. Encourage your friends and relatives to do the same. Who knows? One day they may wake up and smell the odors emanating from D.C.
