Ms. SNIP: So sorry, I did it again. I watched a Trump news conference.
Ms. SNIPE: What did you find out?
Ms. SNIP: I found out that Biden has to read answers and comments from a teleprompter.
Ms. SNIPE: Did you also notice that Trump’s comments are read from a paper document.
Ms. SNIP: Well, I guess he can read.
Ms. SNIPE: I would like to hear what Trump plans for the future rather than what he thinks Biden did wrong, continues to do wrong, and will do wrong in the future.
His news conferences revolve almost entirely bad-mouthing Biden.
He also tells us about all the fabulous, nobody can believe it, absolutely great, positive things he has done. Are you convinced by what he says? I guess that is the question viewers need to answer. He seems to remember things said about him from the past years. He simply forgets what he has said. Backtracks comments to others and makes up new lies to cover old lies.
Ms. SNIP: Even so, the topic today was about denying the severity of pandemic. Wouldn’t you expect someone in charge to avoid panic?
Ms. SNIPE: There is a difference between avoiding panic and truthfully informing people about the kinds of precautions they should take.
Ms. SNIP: I see that. We are warned of storms coming – that doesn’t lead to widespread panic. Being informed is an important part of people’s way of life. He says he’s done a phenomenal job.
Ms. SNIPE: I do get disgusted and upset when the reporters don’t ask some obvious questions. Saying something is a HOAX is not the way to avoid panic. It is more likely to lead to complacence.
He denigrates many people yet brags about the ‘Trumper’ fans who reside as so-called reporters/anchors on FOX. Says he watches hours on end of the animal channel morning shows and afternoon and evening shows. But, when questions get too close to discomfort, he just leaves the podium.
Ms. SNIP: I must say, the other cable channels are also pretty partisan.
Ms. SNIPE: I agree, I think they overstep the bounds many times even when reporting confirmed facts. I dislike the obvious glee shown by the hosts when they report something which casts a bad light on Mr. Orange. However, that animal channel takes the position of explaining his missteps and conveniently avoiding factual evidence when necessary.
Ms. SNIP: I guess all we can do is remind everyone how important it is to vote. I’m sure many voters have their minds made up and nothing would change them.
Ms. SNIPE: Even the proverbial ‘shooting someone on 5th Avenue’ touted during the campaign?
Ms. SNIP: Yes, unfortunately even that. One thing I have learned is that many voters close their minds and refuse to investigate and make informed decisions,
Ms. SNIPE: I agree. To me that is like finding a book you like and reading only that one book for the rest of your life. Informed viewers – for either side – are the ones who are more likely to continue to learn and grow. They are the people who can join in civilized conversations with others and discuss differences of opinion and viewpoints.
Ms. SNIP: There don’t seem to be a lot of those civilized conversations happening. The people I know tell me they simply avoid political conversation.
Ms. SNIPE: That probably keeps the peace but certainly doesn’t solve the devastating divide that now appears to be our country’s situation. One can only hope for a peaceful resolution to the divisions which now exist.
Ms. SNIP: Meanwhile, don’t forget to vote.
Ms. SNIPE: Vote in person OR vote by mail. Just vote.
